  • About us
    The online application system is provided and operated by the University of Salford (the 'University') whose address is The Crescent, Salford, Greater Manchester M5 4WT, UK. If you have any queries about the online course finder or the online application system, please contact applications@salford.ac.uk.
  • Eligibility to use the online application system
    The online application system should only be used by applicants to part-time undergraduate courses, and full-time: Postgraduate Taught, Postgraduate Research, Degree Apprenticeships, International Foundation Year, Pre-Sessional English Language courses and 
    students who are undertaking programmes of study at an approved partner institution or students who are applying to study a University of Salford programme under an approved agreement. (Applicants for full-time undergraduate courses should contact the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) at www.ucas.com for information on how to apply.
  • Terms and Conditions for Agent Representatives / University Partners
    The University appoints the Representative to recruit applicants for Programmes in the Country. The Representative acknowledges that, in respect of all personal data of applicants that it inputs into the Agent Portal, it is acting as a data controller under this Agreement and agrees to comply with all of the obligations of a data controller under applicable Data Protection Legislation (in the manner as if those obligations applied to it). (The expressions ‘personal data’, ‘data processor’ and ‘data controller’ have their respective meanings under the Data Protection Legislation). For further details on being a Data Controller and your responsibilities in terms of Data Protection Agent Representatives should refer to their Representative Agreement.
  • Course Information
    The University makes every effort to advertise courses accurately, at a level of detail which is useful to inform student choice. It is sometimes necessary, however, to make changes to the courses offered and to the content of those courses, and therefore procedures set out below will be followed in making substantive changes. Substantive changes would include material course content or delivery location. Where the University makes a substantive change to a course before it commences, it will do so as early as possible and it will notify students regarding the change. It will seek to minimise the impact of these changes wherever possible. Where an applicant does not wish to continue with the application form, they may withdraw their application by contacting applications@salford.ac.uk


    Where an application has been assessed as successful and the applicant does not wish to continue with their application, they will have the right to cancel or withdraw their application by contacting applications@salford.ac.uk.
  • Applications for University of Salford delivered programmes
    Submitting an online application does not form a Contract between you and the University and does not in any way represent or guarantee that you will be offered a place of study on the course for which you have applied. Once the University has received your application via the online application system, you will receive an automated email confirming receipt of your application. If you have not received an automated confirmation email within 24 hours of submission, please contact applications@salford.ac.uk .


    The University will consider and process your application in accordance with its admissions policy, a copy of which is available here.

    It is your responsibility to ensure that the details of your online application form are correct before clicking the submit button, particularly in relation to the course name, the course code, and the year the course starts. Mistakes on your application form may cause delays in processing it.
  • Applications for programmes delivered at a partner institution
    Submitting an online application does not form a Contract between you and the University and does not in any way represent or guarantee that you will be offered a place of study on the course for which you have applied. Once the University has received your application via the online application system it will consider the applications in line with the approved contract and in accordance with the admissions policy, a copy of which is available here.

    It is your responsibility to ensure that the details of your online application form are correct before clicking the submit button, particularly in relation to the course name, the course code, and the year the course starts. Mistakes on your application form may cause delays in processing it.
  • Declaration
    In submitting an application to the University via the online application system you are agreeing to disclose to the University full and accurate academic and personal information as required for applications for admission, registration and enrolment purposes.
  • You shall inform the University if there is any change to the academic or personal information that you have provided during the admission process as soon as is reasonably practicable. You should contact applications@salford.ac.uk .
  • If, during the admission process or subsequent to registration or enrolment, the University discovers that you have withheld, or provided inaccurate, material academic and/or personal information, you shall be treated by the University as having acted in bad faith. As a consequence, the University may terminate your application.
  • As a duty of care to our staff and students, you are required to inform the University of any unspent relevant criminal convictions, but not until you have been made an offer and pick us as your firm or definite choice of University. At this point we will contact you to ask you to make a disclosure should you have anything to declare.
  • Students on some courses will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check due to a legal requirement or a requirement of a professional, statutory or regulatory body. Please refer to your course or programme of study details for further information as to whether this applies to you.
  • The University will strive where possible to support those who have had a criminal conviction, where appropriate putting measures in place to safeguard both student and the student community. However, the University reserves the right to refuse admissions to applicants whose criminal record makes it inappropriate for them to be admitted.

  • References
    In submitting your application form, you are also confirming that you have sought the consent of the referees included in your application form to use them as referees, and that the University may contact them to obtain references about you.
  • Personal data
    The personal data you supply on your application form via the online application system will be used for the purpose of processing your application and, if you are offered a place at the University which you accept, will form part of your University student record. The University will hold and process all your personal and sensitive personal data according to the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and in accordance with its Guidance on the Use of Students’ Personal Information which can be found here and you agree to such data being processed for the purposes specified in this guidance. The University is able to view any information you enter into the online application portal, including anything saved on a draft application before you have finalised and submitted. We will not consider or process the information provided until you have submitted it, however, on occasion, we may contact you to ask if you need any further help in completing it. Once submitted we will communicate with you about your application and relevant University information using the personal contact details you have provided.
